Shot my 45-70 Pedersoli today with some 405gr 20:1 over 58 grain 1.5 Swiss.
.060 Veggie wad and .125 compression. Grouped 1 3/8"x 1 7/8 at 100 yards and opened up to 2' x 3 1/4 at 150 yards. 457132 grouped about the same with 53 grain of the Swiss.

Also shot the 1873 32-20 and grouped about 5x6 at the 150 mark. Not to terrible with having a rear sight with the tiniest v-notch I have ever seen and an average bore for the age.

I did shoot he 45-70 with 5744 ...but for the life of me can't find my load data for powder weight with the 405 grain 20:1.

All in all......sure beats work.:-D

Ah yes a bad day at the range is always better than a Grreat Day at work.

Just to rub it in, I went shooting while at work yesterday, checking some customer's rifles to 300-400-500 yards. So, you CAN get paid to shoot!

I once had a job which sent me to a foriegn country for a year where I got paid to shoot...and I also got paid to duck!

Charlie, I see that ducking, as a fringe benefit!

That ducking allowed you to pick up that gigantic amount of money that they paid you at the end of the month to. And lets not forget the free health and dental program along with the gourmet meals and 4 star accomodation.
The youth of today have no idea of what they are missing.
