Anyone have any experiences with the Sig P-229 and cast? I know where one is at and the guy is interested in trading for a AR-15. have TONS of .40 brass and nothing to use it in. I was just thinking the other day while I was sorting range brass that I should get a .40. Whats you experience.
Thanks,
Greg

I have a 229 in 40 S&W
It shoots cast just fine
Only problem is it shoots 4" high at 50'
But I just hold bottom of the black and I do fine
Mine likes the Lee 175 gr standard lube boolit
Sized .402 ( I homed out a sizer )
It has a .4005 - .401 bore

EXCELLENT pistols! MSRP/MSRP between the P-229 and a decent AR is fairly close, too. And you can change barrels and have a 357 SIG if you were so inclined--a lot like an AR in that respect. :)
All of our SIG-Sauer pistols (past and present) in 9mm and 45 ACP have been very lead-friendly.

I have one and it loves the Lyman 401638 and 401043 175 grain bullets. I use mid level loads and it puts them at point of aim.
