I was just poking around at Lipsey's web site, and noticed that they now have the Ruger No.1 A's (22" light barrel) in some new calibers for the No.1 :
.257 Roberts
6.5 X55
30-30
.35 Whelen
The 35 Whelen is listed at 6.8 pounds......... that would be quite a cast boolit hunting gun. Of course the .303 British is a catalog item this year too. I had handled a 257 Roberts when I was Christmas shopping, and went back yesterday to possibly buy it, but it was long gone. Hmm, now I have some things to think about......... oh darn. :D

I'd like to have a 30-30.

I bought a 30-30 #1 last week. Shot it for first time today using some 170 gr case loads with 10gr unique. Soft recoil. I think I am going to like this gun.

Think it would be fun in a #1, and ya can shoot them pointy projectiles seated way out! Give us a progress report!

Lipsey's is a distributor that like others offers special exclusive versions of firearms. In this case a Ruger #1 in .30-30 (http://www.lipseys.com/itemdetail.aspx?itemno=RU1A3030&items=exclusives) is what's being offered.

A lipsey is one step up from a hickey. :}
