I'd like to see a 6 cavity copy of the Lyman #375449-anyone else with me?
I can't say I want to honcho the buy,'cause I don't trust myself with other people's money.
But I sure would like to get one of these, exact copy of the Lyman #375449.
Anyone else?[smilie=1:

How about a 375296? I'd be interested in that.

Whats's the difference? The Lyman CB Handbook (circa '73), doesnt give much info and the illustrations are identical, IMHO.
I'm shur there may be some but you still must give specs in a drawing for LEE.

I had both molds, 449 & 296. The difference is "as cast 375449=264gr-.377-.379"
"as cast 375296=280gr-.380-.382"

I still have the 375449, but like a fool I sold the 375296, and it is discontinued.

These are the dimensions and sketches that I have on file for the two molds. The 375296 was scaled from an excellent close up photo of a mold whereas the 375449 dimensions are from a mold that I have on hand.

My choice would be the 375449 dropping from the mold with a diameter of 0.380

I'm in! I would also like it to drop at .380 - .381. I wonder if Lee would cut the mould for 2 different bullets? 3 holes as the 375449 the other 3 as the 375296. If there is a difference in bullet weight / length between the 2 it would give us both in 1 mould

They will NOT cut 2 different sizes in 1 mould.

Tom,
You could that by changing your drawing, have Lee make it whatevere size specified. Now is the tie to make changes before ordering. I bought one of the .375GB(.385) didn't work for me because I wanted a .380 finished size.
The Lyman 375449, on it's best day will only drop@.378.5-.379, and the .379 is on the base band.

I'd buy in on .380 or .381,

Jon

I could go for a .380 diameter, but the #375449 is the only one I'd want.

I would love to see a GB for a Lee six-holer for the .375 Win. and/or 38/55. My preference would be for a 250+ grain, .380-.383 as-cast size. Most any design would do, from Lyman to the current Lee listing. However, I don't really need or want a gas check design, as my loads are kept under 1200fps.
The current Lyman molds drop slugs in the .377-378 range, and in my experience this is too small. They keyhole out of both my guns. I currently use the Lee 38/55 design, it drops as cast @.384, sizes well in my Star .379 sizer, and shoots great in both my .375 Win T/C and my H&R 38/55. Only problem is, this single cavity mold takes FOREVER to cast with. It is S-L-O-WWWW! I need a six-holer!
I also wouldn't mind running a GB, if that is what it takes. I love this caliber, it needs and deserves a decent mold!

I like the 375296 design and would be interested if it were a flat base with a .379"-.380" diameter and weigh between 250-275 grains using ww metal.
