My Lee drip o matic finally died and I wanted to use my christmass presents a SAECO 428 and a Lee mold. So i put my old 10 Lb pot on the camp stove and got out my old RCBS dipper. After a few trys I got the hang of it and had perfect Boolits fallin out, now to go shooting. I was fun and I remembered how it was way back when I started, But i do have a new pot on the way.

No way I'll ever get rid of my dipper.

I started casting handgun bullets on a Coleman stove when I was still a teenager. Even though I cast outdoors, I would end up with a headache afterwards. Switching to an electric pot was a good thing - no more carbon monoxide!
Both of my Lyman and Lee 20# pots have been plugged so as to be ladle pour only.

No way I'll ever get rid of my "dripper" unless/except no electricity scenario.

I still have the drip-o-matic I bought thirty years ago , though I did weld the hole shut and take the lever and rod out . It still works as a dipper pot or when I'm tandem casting with the six cavity molds and the big pot , I use it to preheat metal for the big pot .

I still use a dipper - I can't get a bottom pour to work for me - stream is to fast or to slow, voids/swirl patterns, you name it i got it.
Dipper works just fine for me.

I ALWAYS get better bullets with a dipper. Only way I cast any more.
I went down the bottom pour road one time. I went back and took the other fork. I'm not in that big of a hurry, I enjoy it and don't have to worry about that dang incessant drip. Besides, as has been mentioned, if I'm set up to ladle, I can do it without power.
