I just picked up a used 311413 DC mould. Sight unseen, but when it arrived I found that this mould has no vent lines. It is an older Ideal mould and I own probably 12-15 Lyman/ Ideal moulds, but all the others have vent lines. Is this normal? It doesn't appear that it has been modified at all and the blocks do line up well - Thanks for any info - Bill L

Yes it is normal. I do not know when they started adding vent lines, but I have seen many without them. I have cast with a few that were flat faced like that, but prefer to have vent lines, so all of the older ones I had have been sold or traded off. The older Ideal molds that had the integral handles didn't have vent lines either.
