Good evening,

I've been using 10 grains of Unique in my Marlin 30/30 for a while now out to the steel rams at 100 yards with great results, however..
In 9mm I burn a lot of WSF, and due to the way it meters through my Lee autodisc measure and comparable burn-rate I'm considering it for medium power 30/30 beneath .311" 150gr waterquenched/ GC boolits.

Looking for around 1500/1600 fps, anyone using WSF?
Cheers!

The burn rate is about the same as Green Dot.

Madsen,
I think you are referring to WST. Simple mistake that I've made myself. WSF is the bees knees for 20 gauge field loads and also heavy 12 gauge applications. It seems to act more like HS-6 IMO. I get great results with WSF in 12 gauge buckshot loads. Haven't tried WST at all though. Also, I don't remember any castboolit rifle loads that reference WSF. It would be nice to find some, since I have high regard for this powder.

I was recently given 3 pounds of WST powder and 3 pounds of WSF. I was unable to find much data on loading either one into rifle cartridges. I loaded some Lyman 311291's @179 gr. w/gas checks in .308 Win with an oal of 2.492". No fillers; range was 50 yds.; Ruger 77. Early results follow:

I tried 5.0 gr. of WST and got 856 fps. A 12 shot group was 0.7" wide and 1.7" tall. Observation of the fired primers suggested light pressure.

10.0 gr. of WSF offered 1342 fps. A 10 shot group was 0.8" tall and 1.2" wide. Moderate pressure.

I will incrementally increse the WST load and see what I learn.

Can anyone recommend loads for these powders in any rifle cartridges?
