Gas check prices

I was doin' a little shoppin' earlier. Why are Lyman gas checks so much more expensive than Hornady brand?

To the best of my knowledge, Hornady is the only commercial source for gas checks and supply Lyman as well. We do have private concerns like Gator Checks but I'm not sure how big this company is. Gator checks are available on this site and are highley rated.

I believe Hornady makes the Lyman checks. I also believe the Hornady checks have a faster turnover then the Lyman checks. What this boils down to is that the current Hornady checks are being made with copper that has come down in price from a year and a half or so ago, while Lyman is still selling old stock made from the more expensive copper from a year and a half ago. Eventually, the Lyman prices will come down after they sell the old stock.
