Bought a new Blackhawk 5,5 in SS in 327 Federal. I cast for32 Long and 32mag. I decided to not get the Ruger 45ACP/45 Colt.My 41 mag Smith fills the "Bill" I plan to use the Blackhawk for target and plinking. With full house 327 loads it isnt a bad trail / hiking gun.Cheap on powder and lead. I can shoot 32 Long, 323 mag and 327 Federal.I will save the 327 for hunting / defence.

I wanted one of those in the worst way until I heard one go off.

Anyway, congrats!

Tell your wife you need plugs and muffs this year for Christmas.

i have heard that full 327 Federal is loud. I most likely stick with 32 Long( 700 fps with 2.1 Unique and a 115g bullet or 32 mag loads

I like the economy ( actually it is fun) It can shoots four differant brass ( 32 Short, 32 long, 32 mag. and 327 Fed.) If we ever have Zombies I can find cartridges for it LOL

Good for you, this is a cartridge I would like to see kept alive. I wonder if it is as loud as my Ruger SP 101 in .327 Federal? Definately not something you want to shoot without ear protection.

Have a Merry Christmas!

Kind of loud like the 30 carbine in the 7 1/2' Ruger huh?

Probly about the same. Also same as hot 32-20. I haven't ever shot my 327 w/o plugs & muffs, oh well (don't know what I'm missing, don't care to find out).

I used to shoot 32ACP in my Ruger Super Single Six 32 H&R mag. Worked well and was the most accurate ammo in that gun.

Care to elaborate some? You said it will shoot 32 mag cartridges too? I shoot 32-20 and 32 magnum, you've peaked my interest!

I have a Charter Arms Target Patriot in 327 Magnum. I cast 311316, 115 gr. GC, .313 over a max charge of A#9. 4" barrel, adjustable sights. Gallon milk jugs at 150 yards are fair game. Loud? yes, so are all my 32-20 Colts. I've used the Rainier 100 gr. plated bullets too, good bullets. I'm really happy with the cartridge and you can horse power up the 32 Magnum in a 327 gun, because the gun is heat treated to stand the 327 pressures, 32 Magnum guns aren't as a rule, always exceptions, of course.
Fun,Fun,Fun!!!!!!!!

I would be interested in real world velocities people are seeing in their 327's. I've gotten into a couple rather vigorous arguments on another site with people making some claims that are really out there (16-1700 fps), but they haven't even got the guns yet!

I'm waiting til spring to set up my chrono, I'm using a 4" barrel so I doubt that I'll match advertised speeds. I'm working with felt recoil and point of impact as well as pressure signs, regardless, it is a fun cartridge and very entertaining to work with.

you correct about the noise. purchased a taurus 327 2 inch from cabelas. Will sell as soon as taurus sends a yoke screw. I was looking at the guts and put the pin and spring in backwards . now cant get it out.

Was really excited about the gun . purchased ten boxes of federal 100 grain 50 rounds boxes of ammo.

I'm a big fan of the .32 H&R Magnum, so I've been kicking around the idea of a .327 for a while now. I'd prefer a single-action revolver, but the Blackhawk offering just seems a little bulky to me (mostly because of the barrel length). I expect I will eventually end up with either a GP100 or SP101. I wish the SP was offered with real adjustable sights, if it were, it would be the winner hands down.

Yeah, and lighten the barrel and frame a bit, offer a 5" or 6" blued gun. Add a factory butt swivel and you'd have a real field gun. Same thing with the Blackhawks. Rugers are overbuilt for the 32's.
