A lot of the guys use the Lee C338-220-1R and size it large about .002-.003 over bore dia. due to the deep rifling it displaces a lot of alloy. I found that my 338 mold dropped at .341 and was too difficult to get sized down so I took the Lee C329-205-1R that I had and lapped it out. It dropped at .331-.332, so getting it to .3345 was not too hard (my bore is .3315). A Lee sizer was also easily lapped out. I'm also using an expander from a 338 Win. turned down to .332.

thanks wallenba i was thinking along those lines myself , think i'll get a lee .329 sizer and open it up a tad , it's probably the best way to go for now so C338-220-1R will be in my xmas stocking (i hope)
you just comfirmed what i was thunking,.
happy holidays.adrians:evil:[smilie=w::twisted:

Bruce @ BRP Custom Molds has a design called "Oldfeller's Frankenstien" that was intended specifically for use in the Steyr M95. You might want to take a look at his catalog pages on Castpics.

Here's the link: http://brp.castpics.net/R1.html

lee made a mold that poured out a 319[airc] nose and 333ish body.
i had one for a brief time and passed it along to someone that could use it.
i then promptly found a rifle at a good price that same week.
so it goes.
don't know if they still make it or not.

on the steyr would be great i can't find much "history" on it, i read somewhere that the allies bombed the heck out of the steyr plant during WW2 and most production records were"nuked" so to speak,.
