Too big??

ok guys most says .001 over is ok, my question is what is to big? what i have is a ruger .357 mag and the boolit is hard to push out of the cylinder hole and doesnt go very far in the barrel. the boolit casts at .359 with ww. should i size down? should it go through the cylinder ring easy? what i have read on this is confusing. i am new to this and still learning the in's and out's.

shoot it just like it is. No problem with cast being 1-2 thou. over throat dia.

Having a snug fit in those cylinder throats is a good thing as it'll keep gas blow by from happening and also keeps the bullet from slumping as it leaves the cylinder in travels to the forcing cone and barrel. As long as the loaded round chamber they should shoot well if alloy is appropriate for the load you worked up.

Sounds good to go. You want .000 to +.002 fit in the throats, which are ideally about .001
larger than the groove diam.

My best accurate .357 loads are .001 over the slug size and also they are hardball air cooled. I can shoot all day with no leading at all in the gp-100.
I wish I could say that about my SBH 44 mag.

this is exactly my experience. I can even get mine going at a pretty decent clip and not have any issues with leading.
