Using H4198 and Winchester brass.

Got any loads that would give @ 1800fps, or is this not wise?

Any ideas on a safe load for an 1895 guide gun using these components would be appreciated.

When checking RD's data on his similar boolit and R-P brass, he stopped @ 41.1g and 1680fps, so Winchester brass being larger of volume by @ 4g, I'm wondering what the load might be to duplicate that.

Any thoughts welcome.

Thanks.

I would not go beyond the data you cited. It is at max pressure for that powder. The small extra case capacity will lower pressure a tiny bit but not enough that I would feel comfortable adding powder.
This is the time to bite the bullet, so to speak, and either reduce your velocity expectations or but a different powder. 4198 is a bit fast for that heavy a bullet and the velocity you want. You could try Varget, 4895, or maybe 748 or 335. Look at Ranch Dogs data, it will clearly show the powders that will get you what you want.

And that will be a real thumper of a load. On both ends. Shot an entire lever action silhouette match with that bullet at 1750 once. Once. Sure knocks over the rams though.
