Folks,

Any one with any of the LEE 9mm molds?? My question is, what size do they drop at
with wheel weight metal or 50/50 WW range scrap??

It would be great if they dropped at .357 or just under.

I'm especially interested in the tumble lube 124 truncated cone.

Thanks in advance gentlemen!!

My Lee 6 cav. 124 gr. TC casts at over .356 with WW metal. I then size them to .356 and shoot them in a Smith Sigma.

For me the Lee TL356-124-TC mold with strait wheel weights drops at .3565-.3570. Measured with a Matco digital caliper. I'll try a micrometer after work tomorrow. I just started and have casted about 200 of these and 200 of the 356-125-2R. The round nose is dropping a bit bigger at .3580-.3585. Not sure if this is normal or me.

Thanks fellas.

I am hoping for a mold and boolits of around .357. One can always size them down. If they are too small they will lead and have poor accuracy. I have had mediocre results at best with cast in various 9mm's over the years. Superb results and accuracy in .40 and .45 cals.

Shiloh, I just ran (12/19/10) a nice big pile of bullets this afternoon from a 6 cav. Lee 124 TLTC. I measured some that were early in the run, mold not hot enough, bullets all shiny and they measured .356. I then measured some from later in the run, after the mold heated up and they measured .358. The alloy was some fairly hard WW mix with some Linotype in it, I believe...they look good. Good luck. You might find my comments in "looking for a Lee 9mm Mold" helpful...TOG

I ordered the six banger LEE TLTC mold. You place the order and you take your chances.

I ordered the LEE 105 .358 SWC six banger as well. With the permission of SWMBO.
Merry Christmas Shiloh!! To Shiloh, From Shiloh, Love Shiloh!! And Mrs. Shiloh

I've got the 6-cav TL-356-125-2R, not the TC, and when hot it drops right at .358" and I size to .357" for all my nines. Been thinking about going to the TC instead because it might have less of a "step" at the edge of the driving band- for the 9mm and the 45 mold. Got any pictures of the T/C TL bullet?

Shiloh, try running your nine with boolits sized @ .358".

I have a couple of .358 sizers, Lyman and LEE, for .38/.357. I have a .357 ordered.
Results with various 9's have been abysmal. Some would miss the target at 50'.
almost all went in sideways. Thisa is with bullets sized at .356. I had some commercial that were outstanding but they are gone, so is the vendor, and I never miked the bullets!!

.358 could be the answer. I hope so, and I'll let you guys know. I may try backing the crimp off some as well. because of poor results, 9's are not something I spent a lot of time with. I have had superb results with .40's and .45 ACP.

I have the Lee 120 TC mold and it drops at .358 with WW+ 2%tin. A very accurate bullet that I now use in my .38, .357 rifles and pistols since I no longer have a 9MM handgun.

they do. I'm having good luck with them. They seem to work fine unsized, and the best load I've found is about 7.4 gr. of Accurate #7.
