OK, I am a S&W man. But there is a lone Ruger in the fold and I want to figure out how to remove the cylinder.

I started by pushing some plungers on the yoke and pulling the ejector rod. Managed to get the fwd cylinder latch out also. Then I stopped; I had the premonition of springs and stuff flying to parts unknown.

I put it back together and I'm here to ask the question. Any tricks? Any surprises?

Thank You for the link.

That is very nice of Ruger to make these available online. Probably one of the few companies that would do such.

i'm glad you posted this. I got nominated last night to clean the pistol clubs GP 100. I took on look at it and had no clue how to take the damn thing apart.[smilie=b:

ok fellas its easy take the grips off catch the little pin that will fall out
capture main spring with pin & remove hammer now you can see a plunger , i stick asmall screw driver thru the slot &push the plunger in while pulling on trigger group it will come out fast be careful of sharp edges (dont ask )
dont pull trigger pieces will begin to falloff tranfer bar will any way ,but no biggie
spray cleantrigger group &relube.
now you can get cyl out &clean
reinstall cyl
when reinstalling trigger watch tranfer bar & cyl hand
when lined up snap asm in place
check trigger pull if binding the plunger is not seated correctly
you should be able to run cyl with very easy pull on trigger
reinstall hammer & spring,grips &check function

any more questionsor problems just ask.
