Grrrr.

My first Kill was with a 99E in .308.

Always liked that gun. Wouldn't mind another.

Yessir, I sure like my 99......I'd snag another if the price was right, and 308 would sweeten the deal significantly.

Congrats, and good luck downrange!

Congrats on your find. I have one in 300 Savage that I bought a few months ago. Without a doubt, the most accurate lever action cast boolit shooter I have ever owned.

Gotta a 99C 308 a couple years back for cheap. Love that rifle. I also love my 303 Sav and 25-35 project gun. Best lever guns ever made IMHO. Wish I could build a reduced version on 22lr. Maybe I'll buy the design rights and start building 99's in my retirement. HAH!

Know just how you feel, brethren. I got a 99A in .308 a few months back. It cost me a #3 Ruger I'd given some TLC to, and I really liked that gun, but .... never had a 99 before, and didn't have a .308 at the moment either. I'll miss that #3, but I liked it too dang much to convert it to a .50/110, which is what I really want to do, so .... looks like I'll hafta' get another #3 to build a "Big .50" on, I guess. Besides, I just don't need three .45/70's, and the other two weren't going to go anywhere, so the #3 went by default. It's like selling a child, but .... heck, I've done worse, I guess.

You'll love the rifle. My 99 in 308 shoots so well it puts most of my bolt action 308's to shame.

Congratulations !!!!

I bought a nice 99 in 30-30 this morning at a moving sale. It was made in 1921 and has a cresent shaped butt stock. Stopped by WallyWorld on the way home and picked up a couple boxes of shells. It shoots real good for an 85 year old rifle. I've had a 99 in .300 Savage for several years that I really like.

Congrat's on the new rifle Shepherd2...gotta love them 99's...
Mine's scheduled to be on the brown goodie truck tuesday.....
I have a couple boxes of factory stuff to establish a baseline on accurracy and 50 reloads ready n waitin'....
If it shoots as good with boolits as my 99's in .300 n .358 I'll be a happy camper...:-D

It arrived in my hands....:-D
And it sure is sweet....99% blue and color case left.....and only 2 minor scratches on the stock!!!!
The bore was slightly copper fouled....I'm fixin' that right now....:)
So tommorrow ifin' the wind n rain ain't too bad I'm gonna test drive it with the irons....ya can see em O.K. over the Lyman Tru-Lock bases that came allready attached in the deal...the Leupold 3x9 ain't in my hands yet....dang old eye's neway.....with the Diopter disc stuck ta my specks those factory irons look usable for a test drive....should be able to keep em all at least on the berm...
Nothin' fancy just #31141 n 12.0Gr. RedDot....but should be a blast neway's....

DoubleJK: Pic looks as though you may have the benefit of an aftermarket recoil pad on that 99F..not a bad idea because those "feathereweights" will get your attention promptly with the issue buttplate when shooting full house j-word bullets in 284,308,&358...If your 358 is an "F" please think of me first should you lose interest in it... Onceabull

Yep...
An "F" in .358 lets ya know it went off.....
Was kinda hopin' this un' would be a bit milder on the ole body...[smilie=1:
That pad should tone it down versus the steel one with the Indian on it...:(

Don't think I'll be gettin' rid of em netime soon.....but after I'm gone Mrs. DOUBLEJK'll be happy ta deal....:-D
