S&W 1905 Series 4 ??

Found a S&W 1905 38 Spcl. ser # 590004 at local shop.
Lost my S&W reference books in fire so wondered if anyone could provide an approximate year of make on it.

You could probably do a little cipherin and get it a little closer, but my book has:

Serial numbers 241704 - 700000 being made between 1915 and 1942

BTW, sorry to hear about the fire.

From another source:
"In 1920 they reached serial numbers in the 346,000 range. By 1932 they were up in the 628,000 range or higher."
"648xxx .38 Military & Police Model of 1905 4th Change manufactured in 1934."
So now I'm guessing about 1928-29 time frame.
Not the finest finish left on it, but looks fairly unfired as no cylinder stop ring anyway.
Should be a good shooter.
