ive read so much on picking a sizing die i am overloaded.

ive slugged several guns, and need advice on which sizing die to get.

i am just starting with a lyman 45.

slug size.

5.7x28: .223

.30-06: .308

.30wcf: .309

10mm: .401

.44mag: .430

how do i determine what die dia. i need?

also is there a list of what top punches are what diameter/shape?

all im finding is item #'s, ive got some lee moulds i need top punches for.

I would size .001" to .002" over groove dimension. For the .30 calibers, .310" should do it.

Click on Top Punches, in the left-hand box: http://www.castpics.net/

I don't believe Lee sizing dies use top punches. They push through from the bottom, at least mine do. The pusher should have come with the die.

Actually, you will get very superior results if you just ignore the bore diameter. Size your bullets as large as you can and still get them to chamber easily. Ideally, they should be THROAT diameter, or 0.0005" under. This works best in revolvers, pistols and high power rifles. Any questions, give me a PM.
