My 1951 Model 94 carbine threw the forearm screw that tied into the rear barrel band. I checked with a gun smith, he didn't have the part, and said there are three different such screws for pre-64 carbines. That makes me not want to just order one from Gun Parts Corp without more research. Can any one advise where I ought best to go for a replacement? Thanks.

I didn't know there were three. Try here http://www.wisnersinc.com/rifles/winchester/94.html

I think your gunsmith just didn't want to screw (pun intended) with it. If you need the rear band screw (the one tha goes thru the forearm and band) just order it'll fit. Part #277430A. Regards, Woody

PS I've got Win. '94's the same age as yours and they're all the same and so are the rifles made in the 1930's.
