They boys over on the Marlin Owners Group are using bout 11 grains of Unique with that boolit and they are shooting clangers up to 1,000 yards.

I'm not familar with Unique Who makes that? 11g sounds like just a little It must be a bulky powder or do you have to use a filler?

Alliant powder makes unique and it is a quick burning pistol, shotgun powder that works great with cast loads in lots of rifle calibers. Its sort of one of the standard go to powders for loading lead bullets at moderate velocities

I use 9 to 10 grains of Unique, works fine for the 375 or 38-55 with a 250 grain boolit. Comes close to duplicating the current (mild) Winchester 38-55 factory loads. Very accurate.

Those Unique loads will run about 1300 to 1400 fps.
