Hello

I want to run this by you guys and see if you think this alloy will be fine. I will be casting bullets for a 9mm Glock with aftermarket barrel, .40 Glock with aftermarket barrel and Kel Tec Sub 2000 .40.

Lead - pure lead - stick on wheel weights
Wiping Solder - believed to be 38% tin - 62% lead

I am thinking of using 45 pounds of pure lead ingots to one 5 pound bar of wiping solder. That should give me 48 pounds of lead to 2 pounds of tin.

Do you think this will work for my needs?

Thank you for taking the time to analyze this for me

If my calculations are correct, that will give you roughly 25/1 lead/tin. Most would question an alloy that soft for your autos.

Straight WW's+2% tin works well for me (that is the clip on WW's not the soft stick on weights).

Clean soft lead is hard to come by. You might do better trying to trade the soft lead for WW's and then using that with an add'l 2% tin as I do. Muzzle loader shooters are always looking for soft lead and many would jump at the chance for a favorable trade.
