Kinda difficult to make a hollow base hollow point, I should think.
I know that. i just meant if it was hp not hb I would be in this buy.
I'm thinking I'd prefer the solid/hp options. Would like to see a copy of the original 45/70 Trapdoor 400 grainer with a hollow base, but for my #3–what I'm thinking I'll shoot this one with–I don't see it's utility.

I would like a .462 with a set of blank pins. Can you tell me what the nose length and meplat diameter is?

Can you tell me what the nose length meplat to crimp groove = 0.456"and meplat diameter 0.322" is?
A .462 diameter would be perferct for great grandady's 1873 springfield that i inherited. However would it also work in a marlin lever action ? I already have 9 45-70 bullet moulds and i need an excuse to get this one also. TOM
This was a BRP project at one time. Several people got it for the Marlin rifles and it does fine. Some of the newer (less than three years old) Marlin 45-70 take a 0.460" boolit and no larger. The older ones made by Marlin (not Remlins) usually take a 0.462" boolit. Measure your chamber and throat to be sure as both sizes are offered.
The list is up to date as of this post.
