    TL309-230-5R question

how many shooting it sub sonic have noticed better accuracy with a gas check? I plan on pcing them and shooting them subsonic out of a bolt gun (300 bo) so running an action isn't a concern. I loaded some tumble lubed with 3.5 grains of red dot and they were real quiet. No way to accuracy test in the winter though.

I shoot subs fine on pistol AR without gc on boattail end, with H110 or 296.
When suppressed though, leave traces of lead in my can even when double-PC'd & tumbled with BLL.
    I use NLG CBs now.

Doughty's right, no-lube-groove mold for PC (powder-coated) CBs.

Lloyd, have you shot them supersonic with gas checks?

I have never tried them with a GC but they shoot phenomenally out of my 7.63X39 (.308 bore). I'll try them just for the heck of it.

nope I don't see much use in a bullet that heavy supersonic. to be honest I don't even shoot sub sonic out of my ars because its just to dirty. I bought this American to shoot subsonic and my ars will shoot the 130 rcbs at full power. Less lead and much flatter shooting. I haven't even put a gas check on one yet. I was out and had to order a couple thousand and there not here yet.

Sorry, I didn't get back earlier.

I haven't tried the 230 bullet yet. I've been considering it but am also considering the Accurate 311230E which seems to be a competition favorite. If neither of those then will end up with the Lyman 311299.

I powder coat my bullets these days. I am trying to find velocity limits on the Lee 309-180 before I try another bullet. So far I have pushed them to 2300fps with near MOA accuracy and no leading.
