4759 is my personal favorite for my 50 cal smokeless MLs (have 3) and is one of the "book" powders listed by Savage in their Savage MLII powder loads. It is also widely used as a "booster" for other hard to ignite and temp sensitive powders. I'm gradually picking up a few cans at a time but am 60+ miles from the nearest retailer. 5744 is close but a lot dirtier and VV N110 is close but very hard to find and way more expensive. Luck all in starting another "hoard". 10 ga
10 gauge: as per Robert Ruark, "use enough gun"

When I asked if other powders were going to be stopped he said yes.
    Here is the list:
    SR4759
    pyrodex pellets
    IMR 7625
    IMR 4007
    IMR PB
    Winchester Supreme 780
    Winchester AA Lite

This is what we had dreaded would happen after Hodgdon purchased the IMR & Win powders.
Anybody know what they are replacing the pyrodex pellets with>
I have used them and Triple 7 in my inline and the pyrodex pellets seem to ignite better with perc caps.
Not to mention that they clock in exactly 100fps faster than 777 to make those boolits open up better

If they took pyrocrap off the market entirely I would not notice, if I wanna rust up a fine smoker I will dip it in acid, but losing PB is just wrong......I will buy what I figure I figure I need for the rest of my life before it is all gone.

I have decided that anything that is used with Black Powder or subs will be SS.

But a 3/4" hole at 100yds is hard to beat when you are using 45cal bullets

Unfortunately they have all passed away but some legal full auto shooter friends I shot with back in the 70’s swore by PB, especially the Thompson shooters. They all claimed it shot cleaner, leaving less residue than anything else.

Zombie thread alert! This thread is from 2014 so the announcement on discontinued powders is 5 years old.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

Nope they're not. Leadman missed SR4756 being discontinued at time of his OP.
