    LOL!

I'm not at a definite weight yet Brad. I still need to get some custom action bolts made up, then screw it together, then balance it. The stock weight's could have a definite impact on the final weight of the rifle.
As it sits right now, the put together rifle with the scope rings and all weighs 12.543lb
I think I'm going to need to add 2lb to the butt.
Add about 1.5lb for the scope and you've got a 16lb rifle.
If that's too light, then speak now. It's not too late to lead the forend and wouldn't add too much to the time frame.

Wow. I expected that rifle to be heavier than that.

Tim, check out Kevin Rayhills bolt handle for the Savage. Much better than the stock one.

Here is a pic of one on one of my rifles that Kevin put together for me.

No, but for the right money Tim will fit some to it.

I think 15 to 16 pounds is plenty heavy to take the recoil out of about any sane load. Should ride the bags nice too.

Mike, I'm not usually a cereal guy but I do plan to start eating my Wheaties.......

You gonna pack that to the top of the nearest mountain?

Nearest mountain? That would be over 400 miles away in Colorado.

Nebraska doesn't have mountains, nothing even close. We do grow a mean steak though.

We call that "flat as a flitter". I soooooooo wish I lived somewhere that had long ranges. Hearing LL talk about Nevada makes me want to cry.

Yeah, the wife was flabbergasted when we drove through there last year, she didn't think that much corn had existed in the entire history of the world!!!

Tim, the public lands out here are excellent.

I can take you places that you can shoot for miles, and then turn 90 degrees, and have a rock cliff that you can pick out rocks at whatever range to knock the dust off...

Tim, you're welcome out here anytime...

Thumbcocker was out here a month or so ago, and we had a fine time shooting!

No point. My neck is the wrong color to make all of that "work".

Says the guy from Nebraska with an affinity for levers and cast boolits...

Not saying that makes you a redneck, but I'm guessing it isn't white as the driven snow, either...

I live in Nebraska but am not "from" Nebraska. I am a military kid who happens to have a father that retired while at Offut.
The red necks in Nebraska are largely small town and rural kids, I am from neither of those groups.
I don't have a lift kit on my pickup, no confederate flags in my home, my wife dresses in an age appropriate manner, my daughter is 20 with no kids, and I speak pretty clear English. I have all my teeth, have no tattoos, and have never made or drank moonshine.
My neck, like my collar, is pretty darn white.

    All in good fun, Brad...

I fit all of the same things you mentioned, with the exception of a rebel belt buckle with a flag on it...

Everybody has their own definition of redneck, and their own opinion of which side of the line they are on.

I'll claim redneck anyday, over being an inbred hick!
