    single shot Ruger American Rimfire

Is anyone aware of a manufactured single shot block that can be used in place of the magazine? I want to occasionally use my rifle as a single shot and would like to be able to drop cartridge into the port and close the bolt instead of fumbling around putting the round directly into the chamber.

I only know of a single shot magazine being made for the Winchester 52.

I knew it would not work as the Ruger takes the 10 round rotary magazines. But the only single shot magazine adapter that I know of is the one you showed enfieldphile. I also have one for my Winchester 52C that I use.

There is a single shot adapter for the 10/22. That should work.

Collecting .32 molds. Please let me know if you have one you don't need, cause I might "need" it!

I would love to see a picture of it or a link to a website that sells it.

Buy a $15 (?) extra magazine , gut the shell & overfill it with epoxy or Bondo - then shape the top with a Dremel tool until you have what you want.

Not to hijack but I will......Aside from the single shot adapter, how do you like the Ruger American Rimfire? I've considered getting one. Regards, Woody

I like it a lot. I haven't fired more than 200 rounds through it yet, most of that is bulk ammo and it seems to be pretty accurate. I don't know if it shoots as good as my Marlin 39A though. Some side by side testing with a variety of ammo is on my to do list.

If you make a single shot adapter, or find one, please let me know (PM me). I use a pair of American's to teach with. For the young ones out there, the single shot would be the best tool to use (IMHO).

I agree. I have several grandchildren getting to that age so it looks like making one will be a project for this winter. I will let you know how it turns out

I'd like to have one just to have one. You never know when you want to fire "just one".
Someone should bring that idea to Ruger. Maybe they might find it profitable enough to market something like that.

I resurrected this old thread after discovering this company offering just what I originally wished for. I have since acquired an old single shot 22 that is shorter, lighter, and has a shorter length of pull for my grandchildren to learn safe firearms handling so I never tried making something that worked. Here is a link to this company and their products and a YouTube video showing how they work. https://www.47products.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCoxYgkyWcc
I am going to purchase the "mall rat" version of this adaptor. I wonder if anyone out there has seen or tried one.

Wow, thanks for coming back after 5 years to show what's available.

You know reloaders are cheap, bullet casters even more so.

Seeing those 30 dollars plus shipping is just about enough to force me to by a printer, make my own, and save even more money.

While I haven't placed the order, my shipping quote is $4.00.
