    New Single Shot Rifle, Stock

I had a good day wood working, just a little finish sanding and ready for the oil finish and checkering.

I am going to post the pictures both ways and hope one or the other works.

That's very nice work that you're doing with that rifle , I can appreciate all the effort , sweat, etc. that goes into a project like that , some won't be able to appreciate it, but I assure you I can :

    Stock

Thanks for the complements Ben and Buckshot.
Ben, my gunsmith inlayed the wood for me so at least for me, the hard part was already done. Will start checkering this morning and post a picture of the finished stock before sending the rifle out for color case hardening, blueing and other finishing touches.

    Johnw...ski:

Looks like you're having problems with posting of your pics.
If you go to photobucket.com, you can post your pics there for free and use a link here .

    http://photobucket.com/login

Easy to post pics with this method.

    John,

Wanna get rid of the wrap aound ?

    In photobucket
1.find the picture you want to post,
    2.click edit
    3.click resize
    4.click up/down arrow @preset sizes
    5.click message board

Now it is shrunk down to full message board size to post.
keep the original size in your pc. You can also make it smaller in your camera before tking the pic, or resize in your pc. Posting thumbnails makes it hard to open and see detail of pic.

    Hope this helps,
    Jon

Don't you just love all the free advice we give here? And it's worth every cent you pay for it. Here's some more: Just copy the image code of your Photobucket photos and paste in your post here. That way we see the actual picture rather than the link to the picture as you have above. If I remember correctly, there are 4 addresses or numbers for each picture you have posted there. The Image Code is the bottom one. Post your pictures again using this method. Sil vous plez.

    Stock Pictures

    Thanks Ben,

Are the pictures from photobucket actually showing without clicking the link?

I have an additional 1 1/2 to 2 hours glass bedding the wood to metal. It certainly wasn't necessary with the fit I already had but I like it that way.
Now I am working on checkering, not my idea of fun.

Pics look fine in thread # 14.

I'm not into checkering, but the stock fitting and finishing, Yes, I enjoy that.

6 hours! Dern hard to make pictures! So where can get oneathemactions? I really like it!
We need somebody/something to keep the government (cops and bureaucrats too) HONEST (by non government oversight).

Every "freedom" (latitude) given to government is a loophole in the rule of law. Every loophole in the rule of law is another hole in our freedom. When they even obey the law that is. Too often government seems to feel itself above the law.

We forgot to take out the trash in 2012, but 2016 was a charm! YESSS!

    Feken High Wall

This high wall was in limited production in the mid to late 1990's and is supposed to be the 28 th of 28 built. As far as I know, this is the last.
