    Lyman 55 HL Culver Conversions

What color were they painted? Some were original Lyman orange and some were black? Blue? Brown?
I just picked up a black one on a late model 55 frame that is black, marked HL Culver but not serial numbered.

Looking for background information, Google has provided more questions than answers.

Both of mine are on Lyman orange bodies and serial numbered. Rifle measure has a bottle adapter, the pistol measure does not.

Pistol measure graduations are calibrated for W231, a setting of 100 equals ten grains of 231, 50 equals 5 grains, etc.

Thanks Outpost75. I did not know there were pistol versions, how do you tell them apart?
