Chat Room

So is there a temporary problem with the chat room that is being worked on? I am usually in and out of chat every day, including having coffee with friends every morning while discussing a variety of things.
I have not been able to log into chat for the past couple of days. I have updated my Java, and still no luck. I was able to get into chat temporarily last night on my ipad, but no one was in there, so I got right back out. Just wondering if this issue is site wide, and is being addressed.

I couldn't get on yesterday. It seems to be working for me right now, but it did take alot longer to load. Nobody else has signed in so far.

I'm still getting "A problem was encountered while trying to load this chat room. Please contact the site administrator for help resolving this problem" message. And I only get this message after hitting the chat button 7 or 8 times in a row. Otherwise, it just sits there forever and goes nowhere.

I wonder if updating Java hurt things for you. About a year ago, a Java update broke it for me. I told addonchat via e-mail, but they were less than helpful. They said it was a known issue and it might get fixed someday, but basically just pointed fingers and blamed Oracle for Java breaking things.

I rolled back to a previous version and haven't updated Java since.

Just updated to the NEWEST version, which was released on 11/16/2015 ( http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/downlo...undleId=113226 ), and still cannot get into chat.

I'm guessing that Willy needs to update something on the server side. The client side updates don't fix the issue.

I am not sure what is going on with this, I know that the server owner has been sent a couple of messages. Past that it is a waiting game.

There are two parts of chat:

1) Server side
2) Client side

The client side is what we have on our computers to connect, it's mostly the java software

The server side of the application is a mod, made for vBulletin, and occasionally has to also get updated, since JAVA breaks that also. I checked at the vBulletin site, and don't see any updates for the chat function.

Well, I have a desktop at work that has the newest version of Java, and a Surface sitting on my desk that has an older (known working) version of Java, and neither will let me in chat. My ipad at home last night let me on just fine...
There is definitely an issue....

same here a few different versions of Java and not consistent connection.at work with an older version I can get on chat now and then.i updated the java here thinking that may be the problem and I can not et on here either.no notepad to use here and there will not be one just for chat here.

It did an update when Steve and I were on there the other night so I think its on the server side

Try using a different internet browser. I use chrome most of the time, but it does not play well since the latest java updates. Mozilla Firefox loads the forums and chat up just fine.
