    Car diagnostic scanner

I got this scanner from a friend but did not get the booklet that goes with it. Anyone have one I could copy?

    I have a similar one.

In compliance with the first rule of 'Man Law':
(throw away the instructions, and disconnect, or otherwise bypass all safety devices)

I just plugged it in and started pressing buttons until I figured it out.

    They should have it on-line.
Search brand name, model, and end with manual.
    Should come up.
Don't really think you'll need it.
It looks like a plug and go.

OBD II [on board diagnostic 2] is just about idiot proof (although the world will always find a better idiot )

You don't really need the manual to operate those things and the codes are readily available on the internet. (Luke.. Use the Google)

Mine came with a instruction book, but was written in such small print You would need an electron microscope to read it.

just plug it in , most of those pocket rocket readers are plug n play, (self prompt) I've had several over the years they work good for what they're intended (quick guide) but for my application (everyday in the trade) they dont cut the mustard information wise and function (pass thru flash program and diagnostic switching) you'll be surprised how much info it give you though, they really are a handy quick check tool.

I bought a scanner a few years ago, plugged it in, and opened the manual. By the time I got to the part telling me what to do, the scanner had timed out and shut off. I tossed the manual, pushed a couple buttons until I got the error code displayed, and headed to Google to get not only the description of the error but a link pointing me to a video of how to fix the problem. I haven't seen the manual since.
