Cool color, those look really good for BBDT. How'd you bake them, laying down on something?

Same as pistol boolits. Stood'em up carefully with curved hemostats on no stick alum foil, 15mins at 400. They are the lee 312-155 for sake of reference.

Did about 200 of the lee 45-255 the other day, short, fat boolits are easier to stand up.

Jupiter you're doing great with BBDT. I did too for a little while then doing the exact same thing on another day gave poor results. I tried tweaking several variables trying to discover what really matters and what doesn't, and finally gave up. I'm solidly back to ES, painted around 1500 boolits over 1.5 days, every one of them perfect with no drama and no hopium needed.

    But you're doing well!

This may or may not be the best thread, but what powder color/vendor have you found works BEST in DT method for ONE COAT. I'm tired of doing two and don't want to get into ES. Super Durable Wet Black from powder by the pound? One of Smoke's powders?

If you look in my pictures two posts above, those have been through a lee sizing die. Sized from .361 down to.358.The green powder from smoke provides single coat coverage easily.

I am hoping my favorite will be the clear, but I have not seen anyone post a report/test yet. Until I know that it will work I will withhold any vote because I have tried only HF red and I don't care for red boolits. Just don't like the look of brightly colored boolits at all really although Beagle333's green granite looking boolits are pretty cool looking!

    Clear!

It is 'Powder By The Pound', ' Crystal Clear Super Durable High Gloss '.

The bullets are cut down LEE C312-155-2R, mold shaved to remove the gas check and just a little of the first drive band, final weight is 130 grains.
On top - 8 round (real) clip for M1 Garand - 30-06, middle is GI metal magazine 300 AAC Blackout, bottom is GI M14/M1A magazine .308/7.62 NATO.

    Enjoy,

The "green granite" looking ones are a mix of Liftow Blue (bought it offa Fleabay) and Kawasaki Green.

Im partial to John Deere Green myself. First attempt at laying flat and baking after ASBBDT. They dont look as some of the ones on here but they are a long way from the first batch I coated.
