Shake N Bake and a wire mesh tray......

My question is are you guys sifting the boolits over something to try and reclaim the powder or are you just trying to put enough powder in the tub to give good coverage and then calling the rest a loss after you sift the boolits?

Trying to reclaim the powder sounds time consuming and messy. Am I missing something?

    Thanks in advance.

I place my mesh tray on a square of coated cardboard (think record jacket) that has been folded in half then unfolded.

Dump bullets onto tray, lift up the tray, mayber a quick jostle to single layer the bullets, and into the oven.

Pick up cardboard, fold a little and pour powder back into tub.

    Day in, day out.

    Good luck

I had one of the rcbs media seperators for getting media out of cases after tumbling. I bought the big Dillon unit so had no use for the rcbs. One half of the basket works just fine. I tumble my bullets in a virbratory tumbler to coat and just dump them into the half a basket and the pc goes in the bottom of it. You could probably do the same with a speggetti strainer and a kitchen pot.

I just pick them out of the Tupperware. It's slow but I don't usually do big numbers at a time and I find it sort of relaxing. I've been told I'm kind of odd though.

Yep, long tweezers, like working chop sticks. It is slow but not ridiculous. I just stand them up in wire baskets & bake. If a few fall over going into the oven, I don't sweat it.

I flip mine into a wire basket over a sheet of foil, dump back in bowl. With ASBBs I pick them, but only because I haven't bought a colendar and my wire is too tight a mesh.

Where are you guys finding the wire mesh baskets? Having a hard time finding something that will fit in my convection oven, as well as can withstand the heat.

I started by baking in a wire basket. But now I put them on a tray or pan. You can get a big strainer from Dollar Tree for ... $1. Take the plastic off the handle and squash the basket so it is thin enough to fit in the oven. That is what I did. Many folks use 1/4" wire mesh and make a little basket with it. I forge the actual name of the stuff. If I think of it I will edit the post.
I got my tips from watching Elvis Ammo also. He was (and still is ) my PC mentor.

    Got mine from Amazon.

They have other sizes too. I thought they might be flimsy from the description but they are not! Plenty sturdy for a pile of bullets.

I take my tumbled boolits out 1 by one with a small needle nose pliers and drop 1 -6 in another empty Tupperware container and bounce off the excess. Once I take the boolits out of the second container I employ it back into the first. Makes a more even coat.

I stand mine up on a wire basket I bought at Walmart for $5. I set it on top of a cookie sheet covered with tin foil. Works slick.Click image for larger version.

I have no relative information on shake n bake, but I do spray on mesh to recover what powder I can. There is a recess in the bottom of the booth with a catch can. I placed a lazy Susan bearing tray at the bottom so I can rotate the bullet tray as I need to.

Put a 8x10 baking pan under the basket saves all the excess powder for reuse. Dumping it on cardboard is a waste.
