    Finally! A marlin 62!

I finally found a Marlin model 62 in 30 carbine! I’ve been looking for years and I finally found on at a very decent price. For you that don’t know it is a lever gun on basically a 22 mag frame the throw is only about 1 1/2” and it shoots extremely fast!! I shot around 200 rounds through it yesterday (NOE 310-121 Rn over 2400) and I was able to connect with some pop fans off hand at 100 yards easy! A nice little light gun I am looking for the 257 next

Dang it! I like my Marlins and have been eyeing these. I didn’t know it was a short throw as well. Was this at the Louisville Show? I could have gone. I load 30 carbine already. Shame on you.

I had one long ago and it was a lot of fun. Wish I had held onto it.

    Markopolo,

    Was John Lucas' brother?

I've got one of the .22 mags. Wonderful for wood chucks.

Maybe you should order the 336 chambered in 30-06 here...

    Lol..I’m sure it’s a 30....“30” and not an “06”

Looks like 22 mag. ( maybe a different model number) 256 Winchester magnum and 30 carbine were the only calibers. 22 jet and 357 never materialized?

According to Numrich, Marlin paid Kessler a royalty for the lever accelerator design. Kessler had a short lived lever shotgun with this feature. I'd love one of the LeverMatics in any of the chamberings.

    I have one in a M 57 M which is the 22 magnum. I also have wanted a M 62 if I ever found one priced good.
There is a gun store near me now that has a M 57 in 22 LR at a good price and I am trying my best not to go get it.

    Winchester:

I left my M62 30 Carbine with a friend in Perry County, KY.

He lives on a mini rock farm, and needs some critter
protection for his herd of Jacks.

He's supposed to let me know if he doesn't
    want it any more.

That rifle has one solid, heavy walnut stock!

    Enjoy.

    Hi Markopolo,
I don't mean to hijack the thread but here goes. Model 62 on the bottom with little brother 57M above. I have ammo for it and have fired it a bit. Came with some new factory 256 empties that I had problems loading. The shoulders would collapse when I tried to seat the bullet. I made a bunch from Starline .357 Mag and they have worked fine. I cast 25/20 bullets for it or use Hornady J-words. I use RCBS loading dies and a set of case forming dies. Forget where I got them but they weren't new ones for mega $. Funny how the whiteline spacers on Marlins rot away. See last picture.
