1895 Chilean Mauser rear sight same as 1896 Mauser?

I see Williams makes a rear sight for the 96. Does anybody know if it will fit the 95?

    Barrel or receiver mounted?

Considering they are both small ring Mauser's, the sight should work.

Barrel mount, it replaces the rear sight leaf.

The 1895 Chilean has the same rear sight as the 1889 Belgian Mauser, 1890 Turk Mauser, 1891 Argentine Mauser, 1893 Spanish Mauser. The 1896 Swedish Mauser has a different rear sight.

I know it's a zombie thread. But Dutch, you are still around right?

Regardless of the rear sights being different different on the Chilean vs the Swedish, are they mounted to the barrel the same? Where I'm going with this is can I use my Swedish Mauser scope mount on a Chilean? I'd like to use a scope while doing load development, but I would like not to drop another 75 bucks on a mount.

The Chilean Mauser rear sight is mounted on a steel ring that is soldered to the barrel.

    Yes I am still around...

No, your Swede scope mount will not fit a 1895 Chilean Mauser.
