    .25 ACP mold

Any idea where I can get a 25-35 grain mold for .25 ACP?

I'm using a Lyman 252435E but the 51 grain bullets are a bit heavy for my airguns, they shoot but I would prefer something faster.

Oh and I want it to be 12 cavity

Start emailing the custom makers that advertise here. That 12 cav will be the costly part.

2 six cavity molds may be better. Keeping the mold at proper working temp will be a challenge with a tiny boolit .

Good lord! I would not want to cast those boolits.

You could also drill out the bases to lighten the ones that you already have.

Why not mill the top off the Lyman mold? Ranch Dog was working with a 25 acp mold with his tumble lube design I dont know if he ever got it up and running for selling molds but I know he has at least one mold.

You could also get your lyman Hollow Pointed, that would make them lighter.

What type of velocity are you getting with your air rifle? I am still wanting to build a 25 ACP rifle.

I really don't want to cut my lyman blocks because they are out of production and the only similar production mold is the RCBS for $120

I may just have to drill out the nose or base until I get around to cutting custom blocks. I want the blocks to be very small so they don't soak up too much heat, even with 51g bullets and intentionally huge sprues I was just barely running hot enough to cast well with 15:1 alloy.

In theory my webley patriot gets 825 fps with typical 25g? factory pellets but I haven't fired it over the chronograph yet to verify performance or compare the heavier ammo. I don't doubt the 51g bullets are flying slow and dropping like a rock.

If you're going to run pellets over a chrony, make sure that you have a good light source above it & try to shoot not more than 3 or 4 inches above the sensors.

That mold does not have much base to mill off.

A swage die should not be too hard to do.

Drilling out the bases seems to have a marginal affect on velocity, I'm guessing there is just too much lead touching the barrel and slowing the bullet/pellet/boolit (poolit?) down. Thus far cutting the bases off the bullets seems to work the best, they hit hard and penetrate a pine board far better than soft factory pellets.

If the trimmed bullets test out at 25 yards it looks like I will be cutting down the lyman blocks or making a custom high capacity mold.

I am trying to cut a 25 cal mold and I am having multiple problems, but I am slowly getting close to a usable 2 cavity mold. The Lyman does not have much base driving band to cut down.
Do you want some samples ?
