Lloyd,
That is too cool !! How does it shoot?

That look on your face, when you shift into 6th gear, but it's not there.
Is a 30-06 enough gun for trucks? Would think you'd get more reliable penetration with a 375 or a 45. Should be a good ATV gun, though.

If you keep your truck like I keep mine, that would blend in real good.

Dang Lloyd, that looks too good to be a truck gun! Mine is an old Mosin-Nagant that I got for $70. That way if it ever is stolen I will be annoyed but not out too much cash.

my wife laughed at it. She said the only place up here that the camo blends in is the sand pit i have my range set up in. Havent shot it yet but have a bunch of ammo loaded up and will get to it next week.
Given that you have roughly 11 1/2 months of winter up there, you should have used white duracoat.

nice sox!
You can't buy common sense, and stupidity can't be fixed!
Hey Lloyd, how about I take that one off your hands? Then you could afford a pair of shoes.
I will have to admit, those are the whitest socks I've ever seen in a gun picture.
Fixed the picture for you Lloyd.
Its always seemed to me that the leveraction carbine is the best choice as a truckgun, it quick deployment from behind the seat or an infront of the seat scabbard/pouch is the main consideration.
Thats if carried with rounds in mag but not in the chamber.
If carried empty a bolt action with stripper clips or detachable mag makes better sense.
A stripper clip can be carried on the person or within easy reach, the gun left empty to avoid misuse.
In that case the leveraction would be at a disadvantage.
Ive carried about everything at one time or another in my vehicles for a truck gun including lever guns but there not ideal when a coyote is spotted out 200 yards or father. Lately ive mostly carried ARs for truck guns. Only down side is if it ever got stolen youd be out a pile of money. Ive got 325 into this thing with the scope. I still would want to loose it but its better then a 1500 dollar ar. When i get around to it ill find a good light cast load for small game at close range. Might even wack the barrel back to 20 inch.
My truck gun is a 12 Gauge Baker S by S with a bandolier of ammo next to it. It goes from rifled slugs through #8 birdshot for snakes. Included are a bunch of double ought buckhot rounds and some #4 buckshot.
As having a loaded long gun is agin the law here in NV I keep the ammo handy but not in the chamber.
This gives me coverage from social distances to out to 80 yds or so with the rifled slugs.
It give me the warm and fuzzy feeling that I love.

My "trunk" gun is a Mosin Negant M44. Tough as nails, stripper clips, front site hood, power similar to a .308, and an integrated (pretty much useless) pointy steel spike. IIRC, I'm into it for about a hundred bucks.
My idea of a truckgun is an M4 in 6.8 with a 10.5" bbl and an araura tactical can. short, fast, and quiet. just remember to shoot high if your shooting thru your windshield, the angle of the glass deflects the bullet downward when shooting out and upward when shooting in.
