I have always favored Federal because most of the competition shooters I knew swore by it.
Lapua rifle brass is supposed to be the most consistent and is priced accordingly. Norma is good also but expensive.

Seriously, Winchester and Remington. That's what I have the most of for most of my rifles. I have Norma for my 6.5 Swede, but I built that rifle over 20 years ago, and the only brass you could get at the time was Norma. Couldn't find even a factory load back then. Ditto for my 45-110 Shiloh Sharps. Norma brass. I'm not such a serious handgunner, so most of that brass is Winchester, Remington, or Federal. I do have Starline for my 38-55, and I bought that to fit my original chamber. They offer the "Old, longer" case, and the new short case length in that caliber.

talking about headstamps I came accross some 30-06 brass with FC HE is there any difference between that and FC brass.

I think this question can only be answered in terms of what caliber(s) is/are being loaded and to what performance level. IMHO, there is no one best brass supplier for all applications. I use a lot of Winchester for .32-40 and other schuetzen era calibers, Winchester and Remington for .45-70 BPCS loads, RWS when I can get it for my wildcat .32/357 Dell (when I can get it) and Starline as a go-to if brass for the caliber in question is otherwise hard to find. There is no set answer for this question, IMHO.

PS For high power rifle competition, the question will also depend on what your rifle is... if you still shoot an old Garand, you might want to scrounge up a bunch of those LC Match rounds for your best performance.
