    45 acp

I have done a good bit of reloading for revolvers, but not for semi-automatic pistols. I am in the process of buying a new Glock Model 21 in 45 ACP. I am looking for general tips and comments about loading for the 45 ACP in a Glock pistol. All comments welcome. Thanks, Tom.

You'll probably have problems with your brass due to the unsupported portion of the Glock chamber. The generous chamber will also work the brass to death. The cure is an after market barrel, which would make it a little more cast friendly too.

I have a glock 21 that shoots cast very nicely. The unsupported area is very similar to the 1911's unsupported area and isn't a problem unless you go over pressire. Both my glock and my 1911 will bulge cases if pressure is to high. The 21's don't seem to have a problem leading like some of the other Glocks. Bullet type and OAL are important to assure good functioning.

Your ymmv but I shoot cast boolits from my G26 and G37 with the stock barrels and have had neither a leading problem or brass problem.
