    Speaking of Midway...Midway brass

I have some .44 brass that I got from them a long time ago, with a Midway head stamp. I've shot this brass A LOT and haven't lost the first case yet. I tried asking them who made it but got the "I dunno..." response from customer service. Any of you guys have a clue?

I was told by my local gun smith that it was Starline as well.

I have some 357 mag brass marked Midway, can't destroy it, good stuff. I read that Starline did make Midways brass. I noticed on my 357 brass that it says Midway on the head and then there is an emblem of a star with lines. That makes me believe even more that Starline made it.

If it came in a orange box, it was made before Starline was in business.

Bout a 90% chance it is Starline. Starline will even put your name on the head stamp if you buy enough.

i think 10,000 is the number where they`ll tool up a head stamp , not sure though.

I have some Starline .357 cases headstamped "Bob" & "Bill". About 100 of each.

Starline is just a few miles down the road from them, so why not?

I have a piece of Midway brass, and asked Midway some time ago, and they did tell me that Starline made it in a limited run back in the '80's. I kept the e-mail with the only piece that I had...

No. Starline is just a few hundred yards from the Sierra plant in Sedalia, MO.

Yes, a few hundred yards from Sierra, because Bob Hayden runs both. Starline is a few miles down the road from Midway, which was the object of this discussion.

well actually bob runs sierra, and his wife runs starline. yes they are very close...lol....and yes midway is just east on I70.

if i go east on I70, for any reason , i place an order at midway for pickup, and drive by sierra for some bulk seconds....

Is Sierra still doing the bulk seconds Mike? Heard a while back they weren't. Of course you hear everything anymore. I live probly not even 70 miles from Sierra. Need to get down there and look around.

I think 1000 44 marked "CAST BOOLITS ONLY" would be too cool for school. Anybody want to honcho? Tom

Iff'n I didn't already have another 1000 Speer unfired cases behind my current crop of Midway/Starline, I'd be on that like ugly on an ape.

    Midway brass

Midway brass used to be the only kind I bought for my 357 and 41. It was good stuff, and the least expensive. When they stopped carrying it, I called up and asked them about it. They said I could get the same brass from Starline, who had made their Midway headstamped brass for them. It cost more with the Starline logo on it, though. I still have 50 brand new 357 cases with the Midway headstamp (There are no stars, lines, or anything else except for the word "Midway"); and I am still reloading most of the original cases I bought.

BTW, the current Starline website has a link to a vendor who carries a very wide selection of once fired brass. I may try them next time I need brass.
