    Talking My first Castings

    Cast 216 lee tumble lube 230gr TC Boolits yesterday. They all came out to 237.5 gr. I loaded up 100 of them a few minutes ago then placed them back in the tumbler for 5 minutes for a final cleanup. I am sure the will knock the steel plates down just fine. I will be testing them tomorrow.

    Question please. You loaded the rounds then put them back in the vibrater ( cleaner) to finish the cleaning? Isn't that dangerous? Accidental Discharge

    I may not have been casting for long, however I have tumbles rounds for over 20 years. The only proplem you may have is powder breakdown if you tumble for a long period of time, say mabey over an hour. If you tumble for 5 to 10 minutes just to get the lubes off and shine the brass and jackets you wont have any problems.

    Hi Longrange;
    Did you check the OAL on those loads? Relative to chambering, that is.
    I use that boolet and must seat deeper than what is apparent on yours.
    The reasons aren't really important as long as your aware of the situation.

    Thanks for the welcome all.

    Pepe Ray, yep, had to shorten them a tad bit at the range. They were not feeding properly, shortining them is easier than making them longer. It appears that 1.168 is the proper leangth for the new load. After the adjustment they shoot great out of my Sig Carry 1911, one hole groups per mag at 20 yards today. By the way that is the best this gun has ever done.
