Question Sling options for Puma 92

I really like my Puma but I need a sling from time to time. It does not have the swivel studs. I suppose I could have the front band that goes around the froward grip and barrel drilled and tapped and drill and tap the stock.

But, have any of you used the loop around the barrel type? How about the clamp on type of swivels they make for some shotguns?

Yep, try some waxed bailing twine (triple twine wrapped) with a small tether of moleskin where the twine goes around the stock and barrel/forearm. Sgt. York would be proud!!

    another idea

I bought a piece of 1/2 inch wide leather about 44 inches long, and put a slit in each end I then pulled the leather through the slit making a loop at each end that fit over the barrel and stock of my flintlock. The loop slides closed as you pull on the band I have used this set up for a number of years when I want to sling it up, but I have never wanted to put a permanent sling on that gun. Just what I did. Hope it helps. Tom

I've gone the Junior method of carry. Hands-free!

I put a sling stud in the stock and put a key ring through it. I clip it to the sling and am ready to roll... I have both a Mossberg 464 lever and a Ruger 10-22 done up this way. All the parts are available from Junior (sling studs, etc.)

Uncle Mikes makes a QD mount that goes on the barrel/barrel band. Works fine on all my leverguns.

It does work fine. Here's alook at one on my Win M94. Note the NAPA # 727-2015 o-ring between the mount and the barrel band. It acts as a cheap recoil buffer.

I plan on having a custom leather butt cover made that will attach the sling at the rear. So all I need is a band for the front. Should make the 454 Puma look pretty 92ish. Thanks Jr. for the O ring idea.
