    Hey... got me a thought.

Looking at a pile of Lyman 314299s today got me to thinking...

    .314.... .004 paper... double wrap=.322.

    Gew. 88... bore measures .3205...

This might have possibilities, and I wouldn't even need to final size them if all my measurements play out.

I like your thinking! From what docone31 says you may need the prime casting to be bore size so that the rifling will cut the patch. However, in the name of science, I would be interested to learn how it would work for you. May I suggest trying tracing paper with the appropriate number of wraps to give a snug chamber fit and hence a bore swage. That paper is so damn tough it doesn't come off too easily. See what I am getting at? A 'full paper patched boolit'. To keep the patch secure, use paper glue instead of water or even PVA glue with water. I have one boolit that I patched over a lubed, sized and g/c'd boolit, fired into wet or damp rags that came to a halt with the paper jacket almost intact! And that wasn't even tracing paper. Just a suggestion, you know, in the name of science (and fun). You never know until you try it!
