Are there any good scopes for around 150.00? Can't spend more. on a fixed income.
Want to put it on a 223 rem, shots no future then 250 yards.

Or, if you don't want the Mil-Dot reticle, here's one with the Dual-X that's on most scopes these days:

You might try a 'Want to Buy' listing over on 'Sellin & Swappin'.
Put in about what you want it for and what you intend to put it on to minimize the traffic there.

Death to every foe and traitor and hurrah, my boys, for freedom !
If you can, wait for used one to come up for sale. The higher end scopes come with a lifetime warranty so you have no risk.
I got one from a trusted member who posted in the S&S forum can could not be happier. Saved a chunk of change too.

I have really been enjoying the Burris Fullfield II 3x9 with the ballistic plex reticle. Helps with holdover at distance. Forever Warranty and a good scope. Amazon has them for $159. I have several of them I like them so well and I am usually a Leupold guy.
Good Luck,
Rick
I bought this "Swift Premium" 3.5 to 10X for my 243 Winchester for $200. Very clear optics and holds zero perfectly!
Hold Still Varmint; while I plugs Yer!
Burris Fullfield II - still some new ones around - depends what power range you want - I have several 3-9x40 and 4.5-14x42. Burris has lifetime warranty to current owner. I believe the Fullfield II has become the Droptine. Their lower pricd scopes are made in the Phillipines, most lower priced scopes are China. Burris has been making quality scopes for a long time, based in Greeley, CO - started by an engineer who left Redfield to start the company back in 1971.
Nice scope and nicer 722 Remington, Mr. Wallace!
Ok. You didn’t mention the platform for 223. Also, are you talking about a lpvo, actual hunting type scope, or red dot? fixed or adjustable power? illuminated reticle? which type of reticle? What are you willing to sacrifice (budget for quality)?
It’s tough to advise on an optic if we don’t know what you’re looking for besides a price. If you don’t know the answers, maybe ask yourself these things.
(I’m not trying to sound like a cranky old guy. I’ve bought a TON of scopes and other things not really understanding for what I was actually looking. Then, once I realized what I bought was lacking aspects that really mattered, I’d have to buy something else that could have been avoided had I actually known what I wanted in the beginning.)
Looking to buy new, It will be going on a 223 Rem, built on a small martini action. Not interested in light up reticle green or otherwise. Mostly just target shooting from 25 to 250 yards with a shot at a ground hog once in a great while. prefer a 40mm or larger in the 4-12 power range I like plan old cross hairs. Duplex type cross hairs are ok
+2 for Burris 3-9x40 with plex or ballistic plex reticles. Plenty bright for legal hunting hrs and hold their zero with a death grip. I carried one to Alaska and the baggage goons tore up my aluminum gun case but when I got home it was still holding a perfect zero. Optics Planet has them for $139.00 now.

IT AINT what ya shoot--its how ya shoot it. NONE of us are as smart as ALL of us! The more I travel, the more I like right where I am.
I had great luck with the bottom line Leupold’s. Have no idea how much they are now with Bidenomics but they used to be under $200.
The Burris 4.5-14 are around $170 several places with free shipping.
I think the Bidenflation price is now $299 and up.
.
I would have suggested the same, as I've bought a couple of those Less than 200bucks Leupolds. BUT, there have been reports of $90 china knockoffs with Leupold name on Ebay, Alibaba, and Amazon...so you have to be careful what vendor you buy from.

I like the Leopold rifleman?(cheapest line) 2-7x. 2X is good enough for hunting (1X would be ideal) and 7X good for targets I picked up a couple on sale pre pandemic for under $200-(made me swear off cheap scopes) but now the cheapest sale price I see is $300 at Natchez. A lot of people like Vortex & I see sales on them for $120-150- I have their strike eagle and like it but its not what you're looking for
Just recently came across a Bushnell 6x18x40 at a good price. Are these a decent scope,
