    Best Purple PC?

Well, the wife is requesting some purple boolits for her 9mm. I was going to try Smokes purple when it comes in stock. Until then, what is the best purple PC?

I take Smoke's purple and mix it 1/1 with Smoke's black and get a cool "plum crazy" purple,...looks like the color on the Dodge/Plymouth muscle cars of 60-70's.

I mixed some red and blue powder I got from work. Once cured it resembles black cherry jello fluff. Jello mixed with cool whip. Has a purple mottled whitish appearance.

Did Smoke give a reason why he's not carrying Traffic Purple any longer?
Traffic purple and JD Green are the best powders for covering that I have found in Smokes line of powders.

A while back I decided to try Prismatic. At the time, I did not find anything for less and I found no complaints for Prismatic.

I got RAL 4005 Purple and Ford Dark Blue.

The purple worked great. Very easy to get full coverage with ASBB shake & bake.

The blue kinda worked some, but getting coverage was hit or miss. I can get some use out of it by mixing with the purple. I recommend avoiding the blue.

I am not sure about which Prismatic purple you got, but when I use the RAL 4005 Purple, it quickly picks up enough powder for full one coat coverage.

OK got some preliminary sample of 2 colors in the running to replace Traffic Purple
did a quick and dirty hard core test batch of each to see worst case scenario coating capability
NO BB's, approx 45 degrees in an unheated room, humidity approx 50%, on Bullets cast about 2 years ago and did NO surface prep before shaking. Baked at 400 degrees for 30 Minutes .
    These are 45 cal 230 GR HP's
Signal Violet came out pretty great

Purple Violet not as good. It made a thicker coating when shaking and I did not tap enough to remove much of the excess

Hopefully in the next couple of days I can do another batch with BBs and heat the room well before shaking and post results
Right NOW I am thinking signal violet might be the best candidate to replace Traffic Purple
