Fellow at church just passed on.
His old leverguns made good money
nobody wanted the .22s, small money
nobody wanted the revolvers, small money
    the semi-autos, 1911s, $3-400 after some advertising.
I was surprised, nobody wants old used guns.

May want to find a shop that deals in high end and collectible guns. They will already have the clientele that would be interested in them and willing to pay a fair price. One of them is Antique & Modern Firearms in Lexington, KY but I'm sure there are many others.

Location, Location, Location. Used guns don't last long around here, especially 22's and revolvers in hunting calibers.

Each region is a little bit different. It seems that how readily accessible private purchases are in your area affects things a lot, as well as whether you are in a rural or urban area.

For instance, here in urban Phoenix, we are a big city metropolis with big city crime. So folks here are more likely to carry a handgun daily than folks in the country, and as a result, demand for handguns is higher. BUT,...Arizona is a state where private sales are totally unregulated and free, so while demand for handguns is high, prices are lower for the same model than in, say, Los Angeles or Boston. Likewise, there isn't much call here in the desert for something like a .45-70 Marlin lever-action. Prices on them here might be cheap, but they may take a while to sell. List that same rifle in a state where only straight-walled cartridges are allowed for deer hunting like Indiana, or someplace with bears like Alaska,...and that rifle might be in greater demand and sell for more.
When democracy becomes tyranny, those of us with rifles still get to vote.

There a couple well known gun stores in Eugene where my cousin resides. They both sell quality items, and have been in business for years. With the advise from some of you members, and talking to my other cousins, we decided it would be best to try and have those local stores sell them on confinement. We'll see what happens. Thanks again for all the input.
