Herter's Bullet Maker swaging press

I just put in a bid for the Herter's Bullet Maker swaging press on ebay. I want to know if it will work with Corbin swaging dies.

No, the Herter's uses a 7/8-14 die body to hold the top punch.
Below the top punch and die are on the left with the lock nut, form die and bottom knockout rod. this set is for a 357" swc bullet.

Sorry to be confused -- what are the parts on the right?

The parts on the right are, top to bottom, the nut that holds the die in the press, then the die. The rod forms the base of the bullet then pushes the bullet up and out of the die.

Just to complete the circle, tell everyone what the parts are on the left. And how the hex part fits into the whole thing.

OK, On the left is the nose punch and holder. The holder is the part that looks like a die. The bolt goes through a hole in the holder and the nose punch threads onto the bolt. The holder is 7/8"-14 tpi while the C-H Swage-O-Matic is 1"-18 tpi. Also the Herters press is cast iron while the C-H is aluminum.

Think their the same as CH Swag-O-Matic dies. I think the 9 ton Herter's takes the weird dies.

I have both Super bulletmaker and nine ton Herters tools.
They both take the same base forming die.The die that fits into the ram.
The super bulletmaker takes a body die that is standard 7/8 thread and will accept any caliber nose punch.
The nine ton tool takes a (i think) 3/8 die,and a seperate die is needed for each ose punch.

Mike, no! The C-H uses a 1"-18 tpi nose punch holder die, the Herters a 7/8"-14 tpi die. The bullet die bodies can be interchanged but not the nose punches.

It's gone. Right now there is a bidding on a C H Swag-O-Matic press. I was hoping to buy it for under $50, but it's up to $67 now.

The bidding on the Swag-O-Matic press has gone up to $71, a Corbin press has gone up to $400.

You ought to use the search feature and check out the bidding on the different swaging presses for sale.

I went looking and found it, the Herter's Bullet Maker Swage press and the C H press both sold for $45.
