I was told by Wolf Hollow that there was a blood test (DNA?) available at a location in Texas for $800. That's as far as I took it. This was in the mid-80s.
Believe me, if I could have proven that he was not part wolf, I would have. When he was 15, he got loose. The local Animal Control Officer captured him. When I went to get him, she reamed me out. "Is he part wolf? Is he registered? Do you know that I can shoot him on sight?"
Yeah yeah yeah. I paid his bail/fine and sprung him.
Then I called the MA Environmental Police - they were the licensing agency. They told me that the local Doggy Cop had no jurisdiction over that dog, and that only they could shoot him on sight. And, they called the Doggy Cop and reamed her out for arresting the big bad wolf without calling them.
Yep, I would have liked to make that Wolf Hybrid classification disappear.
