Options for Lee Enfield #4 forend replacement

Can anyone suggest a replacement source for no4 forends? Boyds appears to sell one but it seems to be a sporter version. I don’t mind if its a sporter or original style. Cannot seem to find any around.

What with all the surplus military firearms being imported from Ethiopia especially British surplus rifles like the No.4 in various marks, and in such ratty condition. Parts like stocks, forends, handguards have really shot up in price. What used to cost about $100 for a complete set of wood for the No.4 is more than double that. Might want to look for a cutdown fore end that has been sporterized. At least you'll have something until you find the real deal. Some of the No.4 Ishapore fore ends with the Ishy screw may be cheaper. You can take out the screw and either glue in a dowel using wood glue or epoxy and stain either the whole fore end or just the dowel. My Parker Hale sporter on a Long Branch action and cut down barrel has such a cut down fore end. Frank

I'm building a No4 from a barreled receiver, and bought a complete NOS stock set from Liberty Tree Collectors. Excellent replacement wood set made in Pakistan, and dated 62. Very nice 4 piece set that cost $175. They have lots of other parts also, a good company to deal with.
