    Bw 36

Has anyone here tried it? I got a case of it cheap and was wondering if anything good or bad to say about it. I know it has not been imported in awhile.

It is supossed to be good in 223,243,30-30,308,30-06,303,8mm and is supossed to be between H332 and H335 in burn rate

Bob Jenson of Tucson AZ was the original importer,

I bought a 2 lb jug from him in 1993 for $13 and shot it up in a .223, it was a very accurate powder for me, I went back to get some more and he was sold out.

25 gr BW 36 and the Rem. 55 HP in a Norinco case with a rem 71/2 gave 3250fps in my .223.

That load sent a many coyote to the happy hunting ground,

When the BW 36 ran out I discovered WC 846 and still use it today.

    good luck

The score was a gun shop that had two cases of 10 2 pound bottles each, he decided he didnt need both cases that he had been saving and put one out for sale 99.00 for 20 pounds so I bought it with the option on the second case if he decides he does want or need it. It came with data but have yet to try it yet as I have plenty of different powders to play with at this time

I used it years ago in my M1A with 168 MK. I'll see what I can find as far as 308 loading data if that would help.

The BW36 I had was close to 3031 in burning rate.
worked well in my Swede 6.5 with cast, I replaced the load with Benchmark, the one imported to the US. when I ran out
I don't have the batch number any longer so YMMV
my understanding this was Chinese powder with no flash hiding coating.

I've used it for a number of years in .223. Often got 3/4" - 1" groups at 100 yds with Winchester 55 gr softpoints and a bunch of mixed up military brass. It was banned from importation along with Chinese ammunition and many rifles during the Clinton Administration and is no longer available.

In addition, a fellow named Bob Jensen of Jensen's Custom Ammunition in Tucson, AZ did the importing and he filed chapter 11 some years ago.

I have lost the original pamphlet that came with the powder. I transferred the information into an Excel file and stored it on my computer, but over time the file became corrupted and unreadable.

Still have about 5 pounds of the powder left, and the only load I can remember is 25 gr behind a 55 gr bullet for .223. I reduced the loads to 24.2 gr. for a clocked velocity of about 3060 from a 24" barrel.

It originally sold for $13.95 for a 2 pound plastic bottle, a great deal even for 15 or so years ago.

I have the data sheet that came with the powder I am not good at typing it out. But if a mod or someone is willing to scan it and post it I can make a copy and mail it to them

It lists loads for 223,243,30-30,308,30-06,303 brit, and 8mm mauser

I scanned the data sheet I got when I bought this powder from Thunderbird Cartridge years ago. I have used the 223, 303, 30-30, and 8mm data with no problems with my components in my guns.
I figured out how to post pictures so I will try to post it here. Use at your own risk.
