I use it in most every rifle I have for down loaded J bullets.
somewhere I have reloading pamphlets from Hercules from back before there was accurate electronic pressure testing and these pamphlets list loads for nearly every pistol caliber there is using blue dot and all the other powders they sold.
I’m using Blue dot for reduced .223 rem. Loads.
I’m loading at about 1500 fps with 62 gr. Bullet.
Sounds like Seafire's loads, there's a guy on one of these forums that has 223(and a bunch of other calibers) Blue Dot loads.
Lucked into a pound of it today. Dead guy stuff, carton full of cans of powder, some unopened, some partial for $50. ~15 pounds of powder. Plus two full bricks of #34 for $40.
Gotta start shooting more.
