    Too big???

    Would a 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 8" ingot fit in most electric pots?
    Would a 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 4" be better? Thanks.

Most guys are using a 20# pot & while an ingot that is as big as the 8" will fit, it will also take longer to melt & reduce casting temps. I use 4" ingots, about 3# each.

Yeah, it will probably fit in there, may have to wait for quite a while for it to melt. Its is gonna suck up the heat and probably thicken your entire melt until it gets up to temp.
